9.3 Membership Plan Rules
The rules on a membership plan's Course Enrolment and Group Enrolment tabs decide which LearnDash content the plan grants. Each rule has four parts.
Enrolment type
| Tab | Grants |
|---|---|
| Course Enrolment | LearnDash courses — directly, or by course category |
| Group Enrolment | LearnDash groups |
Content type
| Type | Targets |
|---|---|
| Select Courses | Specific courses |
| Select Course Terms | A course category (every course in it, including future ones) |
| Groups (Group Enrolment) | Specific groups |
Title (object selection)
Choose the specific courses, categories, or groups the rule grants. Leaving Title blank applies the rule to all items of that content type — so an empty Courses rule grants every course, and stays current as courses are added.
Accessible (schedule)
| Schedule | When access is granted |
|---|---|
| immediately | As soon as the membership is active |
| after a delay | An amount + period (days/weeks/months/years) after the membership purchase date |
| on a specific date | A fixed calendar date and time |
See Access Scheduling for behaviour details.
How rules combine with membership status
A member holds a rule's content while their membership is active (or pending). When the membership is cancelled, expired, or paused, the access is removed — unless the member still holds it through another active membership, or the course is free/open to everyone.
