10. Frequently Asked Questions
Does Beaver Profile Builder handle registration or login?
No. The modules manage existing accounts: editing the profile, changing the avatar, deleting the account. Pair the plugin with your registration and login solution of choice.
Can an administrator edit other users' profiles with it?
No. The modules always act on the currently logged-in user, so an admin using the form edits their own profile. Administrators edit other users in the WordPress admin as usual.
Do the modules work for logged-out visitors?
No. For logged-out visitors the modules render nothing: no form, no avatar trigger, no delete button. Keep the pages behind a login so guests are not shown an empty page.
Which fields can users edit?
The standard WordPress profile fields (names, nickname, display name, email, password, website, biography), Twitter and Facebook links, and any user meta via custom fields. See Built-in Form Fields.
Do I need Simple Local Avatars?
Only for the Avatar Edit module, which stores images through it. The Profile Edit Form and Profile Delete Form work without it.
Where do avatars uploaded by users go?
Into the WordPress media library, linked to the user through Simple Local Avatars. The previous uploaded avatar is replaced on each new upload.
What happens to a user's content when they delete their account?
The account is removed with WordPress's standard user deletion; content authored by the user is not reassigned. Test with a disposable account and see the module reference before enabling deletion on a content-heavy site.
Does it work with Beaver Themer?
Yes. The Beaver Profile Builder module group appears in the module panel inside Themer layouts, and the modules can be placed there like any other Beaver Builder module. Keep in mind that the modules always act on the logged-in visitor wherever they are placed: on an author archive layout, a visitor edits their own profile, not the archive author's.
Is there a shortcode version of the modules?
No. The modules are available in Beaver Builder layouts only.
